History and Purpose
Since spring 1995, the Geography Department has hosted the Scholarship & Awards Celebration (ARSC) to:
- foster the continued involvement of Texas State geographers in the department,
- provide a social network for Geography students past and present, and
- most importantly to "Celebrate the Spirit of Geography."
Please join us in celebrating the incredible work of our students and faculty at our annual celebration located at the LBJ Student Center Grand Ballroom on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Following the awards, there will be a Networking Reception to allow students to engage with our incredible alumni and speak with those currently working in the field.
If you would like to connect with our highest achieving students about job opportunities, internships, or research, or would just like to celebrate the success of our department, we encourage you to attend!
